A federal grand jury in Kansas City has indicted two companies in china and one in Las Vegas on charges of importing tainted pet food. The tainted food is blamed for the deaths of thousands of dogs and cats last year.

The indictments have been issued in Kansas City because that was the port of entry for the food. Prosecutors might not see the Chinese company officials anytime soon, though. The United States and China do not have an extradition agreement.
