Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel will have his entire coaching staff back for the 2008 season.  Tight ends coach Bruce Walker will return despite rumors he would leave, even after he was hired for the head coaching position at Central Washington.

Zavier Gooden, rated #56 on Rivals.com Texas Top 100 list has committed to MU.  The Tigers main competition was Oklahoma and Gooden cancelled his scheduled visit to Norman.  The Nebraska Cornhuskers will pick up Will Compton, who is listed as the top defensive player in Missouri by Rivals.com.  Compton was impressed by Bill Callahan’s staff, and reconsiderd Missouri or Illinois after Callahan was fired.  However, after meeting with new Husker head coach Bo Pellini, Compton has re-committed to NU.

February 6th is the National Signing Day, and Missouri has just a few scholarships open for 2008.  One of Gary Pinkel’s goals when he first came to Missouri was to improve in state recruiting and according to Rivals.com it looks as though Mizzou will receive commitments from eight of the eleven top recruits in the state.
