When Arkasas said in their preparation for the 6th ranked Missouri Tigers that they were not going to focus on the run and just concentrate on the pass, I thought to myself that could be a mistake.  I didn’t realize it would be that BIG of a mistake.

Senior Tony Temple became the all-time leading rusher in Cotton Bowl History as he finished with 281 yards.  The previous mark was held by Rice’s Dicky Meagle of 265 yards in 1954.  During the Tigers post-game press conference, Temple leaned over to head coach Gary Pinkel and asked "who’s Dick Meagle?"

Temple has appealed to the NCAA for one more year of eligibility.  In his freshmen year, a year he should have red-shirted, Gary Pinkel activated Temple for one game.  Temple is asking for one more full year to play.  History says he’ll be denied, but what a way to finish.

Reporters waited for Temple to come off the field and we had a chance to talk with him.  Click on the link to listen, but pay particular attention at the beginning, you’ll hear junior linebacker telling Temple that he doesn’t need that extra year and saying how much of a pleasure it was to play with him.  Enjoy.
