The nasty weather that has hit many parts of Missouri is taking a toll. But, there is a chance the federal government might end up helping out, financially, once the bad weather moves through.
Governor Matt Blunt (R-MO) says it’s still too early to say whether Missouri will qualify for federal aid, but he is optimistic. Blunt says once the immediate effects of the weather have been dealt with, state officials will get together with members of FEMA – the Federal Emergency Management Agency – to determine what kind of aid, if any, Missouri might qualify to receive.
Blunt points out a threshold must be met before Missouri could qualify for federal aid – about $6-Million to $7-Million in damages.
