Florida Quaterback Tim Tebow won the Maxwell Award given to the most outstanding college football player and the Davey O’Brien Award for the nation’s best quarterback beating out Mizzou’s Chase Daniel.
They say those are good indicators as to who could win the Heisman, but Brady Quinn was the O’Brien winner last year and did not win the Heisman. Arkansas running back Darrin McFadden won the Walter Camp Award for player of the year and the Doak Walker Award for best running back. Michael Crabtree, from Texas Tech won the Fred Biletnikoff Award for the best wide receiver.
