An initiative petition aimed at banning most abortions in Missouri has been approved for circulation by Secretary of State Robin Carnahan (D-MO).
Before the issue can be brought to voters in the November, 2008 election, the sponsors must collect between 86,000 and 95,000 valid signatures from registered voters in six of the state’s nine congressional districts.
The petition was submitted by the Elliot Institute of Springfield, Illinois.
