A part-time Washington County sheriff’s deputy has been killed after losing control of his patrol car as he responded to a domestic violence call.

Dead is Deputy Michael Triplett, a 48-year-old resident of Park Hills. The State Highway Patrol says Triplett was headed from Potosi to Irondale when he crested a hill and lost control on a sharp curve. The patrol car overturned, trapping him inside. He was flown to St. Louis University Hospital, but his injuries were fatal.
