Court documents filed in a federal death penalty appeal reveal that the doctor barred from performing executions in Missouri is part of the federal government’s execution team. Doctor Alan Doerhoff of Jefferson City has been barred by a federal judge from taking part in Missouri executions.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Doerhoff’s name shows up on the federal appeal of a Virginia man convicted of taking part in a series of drug-related murders in Virginia.
The federal government has 55 inmates facing the death penalty and last executed someone four years ago.
