A young bull rider from Warrensburg has been killed at a rodeo in Topeka, Kansas.

United Rodeo Association President Clint Tatum says 21-year old Cody Brunner was stepped on by a bull he had just ridden.

An investigation indicates the bull stepped on Brunner’s throat between his Adam’s  A pple and a protective vest he and other riders have to wear. His death is the first fatality in the 45-year history of the URA, which hosts rodeo events throughout the Midwest.
