The Missouri Western Griffons improved to 8-2 on the year and 6-2 in the MIAA with a 42-28 victory over the University of Central Missouri Mules. The Griffons won their fifth game in a row against the Mules and their fifth game in a row on the season . Missouri Western used a defensive and a special team’s touchdown to secure the big conference win. The Mules fell to 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the MIAA with the loss. Coming into the game, Missouri Western was ranked 4th in the regional rankings. The loss by Central Missouri may hurt their shot at the playoffs. They came into the game ranked 10th. Only the top 6 teams in each region advance to the playoffs.
