Missouri’s senior U.S. Senator is taking a role in the Giuliani for President campaign. Senator Kit Bond (R-MO) will serve as one of four National Co-Chairmen of the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee , which Bond says will give him the chance to talk up issues of importance to Missouri.

Bond says he had a chance, today, to talk to Giuliani about some of the concerns of Missourians and others in this part of the country. He told Giuliani that water transportation is crucial to Midwestern agriculture, and said that would be aided with locks on the Mississippi River.

Bond praises Giuliani for demonstrating – as Mayor of New York – that he governs conservatively.  Bond says he did so by taking over a city with a huge deficit, cutting taxes and bureaucracy, reducing crime, and by showing when America was attacked on September 11th, 2001, that he knows how to respond to terrorism.
