Lee Corso Hot?!?!?!

You hear the strangest things just walking around sometimes.  I was finishing up grabbing sound off the streets of downtown San Antonio when I heard someone say "Lee Corso is hot!"

Lee Corso, of course one of the hosts of ESPN College Gameday.  So I had to turn around and chase down the group of two men and two women to find out which of the two women thought Lee Corso was hot…I thought I had a great story hear.

Turns out, it was a joke, but nonetheless I got to meet some great Mizzou fans just out having a great evening.  Click on the link below and enjoy the audio!!!

‘Twas the Night Before the Big XII

‘Twas the night before the Big XII and all through the land,
not a Sooner was stirring, not even the band.
Their Jockeys were hung by the locker with care,
in hopes that the Tigers soon would be there.
Truman was nestled all snug in his bed,
while visions of the BCS danced in his head.
And Pinkel in his kerchief full of Tiger pride,
and Bob and the Sooners ready to ride.

When down in San Antone there arose such a clatter,
Bradford sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
He realized the Option was gone in a flash,
and Murray’s dreams of running had just been dashed.

The Sooner tight ends trembled as they watched the show,
A Black and Gold luster set the horizon aglow.
When what to their wondering eyes should they find,
but  Truman the Tiger, and the Heisman candidate behind.

In his bag, he carried a BLACK & GOLD broom,
To sweep up those Sooners and bring them their doom.
More rapid than Patrick his players they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

"On Daniel, on Rucker, now Maclin and Pig!
On Spieker! On Lorenzo! On Temple and Zig!
To the top of the conference! To the top of it all!
This is the beginning of a legacy! With a big MIZZOU RAH "

The Voice of the Tigers Reflects on The Season

The man who calls Missouri Tiger football games expected a good year, but admits he didn’t expect the year the Tigers are having.

Mike Kelly is in his 17 th year as the voice of the Tigers. He says as he assessed this year, he figured the Tigers would win 9, perhaps 10 games. He admits he never envisioned the year they are having.

Missouri goes into the Big 12 Conference championship game against Oklahoma 11-and-1 on the year, ranked number one in the nation. The Sooners go into the game 10-and-2, ranked 9 th . If it hadn’t been for a loss to Texas Tech, Oklahoma would be in the title hunt. Kelly says the Sooners come into the game playing at a very high level and will prove to be a difficult opponent for the Tigers.

Kelly says the Tigers had enough of their offense returning to feel confident they could put up big numbers this year. He says the team didn’t return as many starters on defense, but had enough players with game experience to believe it could become stronger on defense.

Kelly says he has been pleasantly surprised by how the Tigers’ success has galvanized the state. He says that was never more evident than last week. As he drove to Kansas City for the Missouri-Kansas showdown at Arrowhead, Kelly noticed the Missouri Department of Transportation electronic message boards had their usual traffic information for drivers with one significant addition; at the end of each message, the board proclaimed, “Go MU, beat KU”.

Is Mizzou’s Defense Ready For OU?

The defense was criticized early for giving up big yards late in the game.  Some players say the defense was too confusing, other say it’s because they let up at times.  Click on the link below to hear my feature on the MU defense with defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, lineback Sean Weatherspoon, and defensive lineman Lorenzo Williams
