The jury that quickly convicted Lisa Montgomery of murder on Monday begins to consider today whether she should be executed for it or spend the rest of her life in prison.
The sentencing phase of Montgomery’s trial begins this morning in Kansas City federal court. The jury on Monday rejected Montgomery’s lawyers claim that she was insane when she killed a Skidmore woman and cut her baby from her body almost three years ago.
