A man accused of shooting a State Highway Patrol officer loses out in his bid to have some of the evidence against him tossed out. Tommy Rollins is accused of shooting trooper Brandon Brashear at least nine times following a May, 2005 traffic stop in Lee’s Summit.

The evidence against Rollins includes a videotaped confession. In asking that the confession be thrown out, Rollins’ lawyer argued his client’s physical and mental condition before and during questioning was unclear and that police might have coerced him. Jackson County Circuit Judge Stephen Nixon denied the request.
