The first Tour of Missouri professional bicycle race wraps up in front of a big crowd in St. Louis with American George Hincapie winning by 98 seconds.
Whether this was a one-time thing is yet to be determined. The state was the main financial backer of the event this year. Organizers hope other sponsors step forward but they’re not ruling out government support again. Some University of Missouri professors have been hired to measure the economic impact of the event.
