The much anticipated inaugural Tour of Missouri bicycle race, with 120 world class athletes riding close to 600 miles over six days, gets underway Tuesday. The event will be held in six stages, with segments of the competition taking place in Kansas City, Clinton, Springfield, Branson, Lebanon, Columbia, Jefferson City, St. Charles, and St. Louis.

Steve Brunner, the Tour of Missouri’s Director of Marketing Communications, says it all gets underway in Kansas City and wraps up Sunday in St. Louis. Brunner says this event is especially appealing because, unlike most spectator sports in Missouri and throughout the U.S., there is no admission fee. And, even for people who don’t really care too much for the competition aspect of the Tour of Missouri, there will be festivities at each day’s start and finish lines to create a fun atmosphere for just about anyone who’s looking for a good time.
