Two Kansas City policemen who helped stop a shooting spree at a mall last April have been honored by an association of former Secret Service Agents. The Agent in Charge of the Secret Service office in Kansas City says Officer James Payton and Sergeant Michael Griggs are heroes for ending a shooting spree that left three people dead and several others wounded.

The two officers were to be given $1,000 each with their recognition. They’ve asked that the money go to a fellow Kansas City policeman who suffered a spinal cord injury when he was shot on duty last month.
