The Cardinals got a taste of their own medicine in Houston last night as the Astros come up with the 7-0 shutout.  Kip Wells gave up runs in the first three innings and left after 6 giving up 5 earned runs on the night.  Houston’s Roy Oswalt struck out 9 over 7 innings.  The Cardinals fell back into third place, but are still only two games out of first as Milwaukee beat the Cubs last night 6-1.

Scott Rolen was out of the lineup last night and will miss today for sure as he has his left shoulder examined again.  Cards manager Tony LaRussa is bracing for the worst and hoping for the best.  There’s a chance Rolen could be gone for the season.
