Royals rookie pitcher Brian Bannister got the win last night against Detroit in a 6-3 final. He went six innings and gave up only two runs, but he worked out of several jams last night and left 10 Tiger runners stranded. Billy Butler hit a two run homer in the 5 th but Alex Gordon got the Royals on the board with two out in the 4th with a bases clearing double. For Gordon that was his first hit with the bases loaded in the majors.
