Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa said starting pitcher Anthony Reyes wasn’t sharp in his five innings of work last night.  He walked four and gave up a grand slam.  When you throw four errors into the mix, most times it leads to disaster and that’s exactly what last night’s 11-3 loss to Florida was.

They had a chance to gain ground on idle Milwaukee and the first place Cubs who lost 4-1 earlier in the day to San Francisco.

The Cardinals now have a big weekend series with the Atlanta Braves who have hot swinging first baseman Mark Texieria in town.
