The good news for Royals pitcher Gil Meche is he didn’t lose his 6 th straight start, getting a no decision.  The bad news, the Royals still lost.  The White Sox snapped their eight game losing streak scoring twice in the 7 th inning after the Royals scored three of their own in the 6 th to take a 3-2 lead.  David Riske gets the loss in relief, giving up two runs on three hits in a third of inning.

Emil Brown hit his sixth home run and Joey Gathwright went 3-4 as he continues his tear since being recalled from Omaha on August 1st.   Gathwright’s single to lead off the ninth snapped Sox closer’s Bobby Jenks streak of 41 straight outs, keeping him tied for the ML record.

Royals notes:  First-round pick Mike Moustakas is working out with short-season Idaho Falls team and is expected to make his debut this weekend.  Mark Grudzielanek, gold glove second baseman, hitting .370 since July 7 th , will be back in 2008, he and the team agree to his contract extension of $4.5 million.
