State Fair attendance dropped 13 percent this year, compared to last year, and that means a big enough drop in income that Fair Director Marion Lucas expects to ask for an emergency appropriation from the Legislature next year.
Fair attendance totaled 238,000 people. Income dropped almost $230,000. About $100,000 of the loss was on the grandstand shows.
