The Missouri Department of Social Services has announced its Family Support Division’s child support collections increased 5 percent in the fiscal year that ended June 30th, marking the third straight fiscal year in which the amount of those collections exceeded those from the previous year.

The Department’s Sara Anderson says collections for Fiscal Year 2007 are up to an all-time high of more than $587-Million dollars. For the last three years collections have surpassed the half-billion dollar mark.

Anderson credits the work of Division employees for the rise. Among the ideas they’ve instituted to facilitate the payment of child support: Simplifying how non-custodial parents make their child support payments through such things as the option to pay online or to have automatic withdrawals from their bank accounts.
