A petition is in the works to overturn the Kansas City light-rail plan adopted by voters last year. Six-thousand signatures have been gathered, are needed and organizers say they have them.

A member of the committee says last year’s plan adopted by voters is a bad plan, is not feasible, and will not meet federal standards.

Community activist Clay Chastain, who got his plan approved last year after several years of failures, calls the petition a "circus," and "an abuse of the democratic process." He says any attempt to throw out his plan will trigger lawsuits.
