The St Louis Cardinals tied a Major League record in snapping a five game losing streak last night in a 10-5 victory over San Diego.  The opener of the four game set between the Cardinals and the Padres was highlighted by the Redbirds ten-run fifth inning.  To start the frame, St Louis collected 10 straight hits without recording an out, tieing athe major league record done many times.

In the inning, Scott Rolen and Ryan Ludwick hit back-to-back homers while winning pitcher Bradren Looper and Aaron Miles each recorded two hits apiece.
