More bad news for the elected board of St. Louis Public Schools. Cole County Circuit Judge Richard Callahan has ruled the board cannot settle district lawsuits on its own. And, attorneys for the elected board cannot be prevented from passing on information to the appointed board which was created when the State Board of Education declared the St. Louis school district "unaccredited."

There is some disagreement, however, as to whether this means lawyers for the elected board must cooperate with the Special Administrative Board. The State Board made the decision to remove accreditation because of poor academic performance and poor financial management in the St. Louis School District.
