Authorities in Kansas City are looking into the details of a fatal police shooting. It happened just after 1:30 Friday morning.
Police shot and killed a gunman after the man fired a shot that injured an officer. A police report indicates the shooting occurred as police were conducting a surveillance for drug sales in an apartment complex. A foot chase of a suspect ended with a struggle in which the gunman pulled a weapon and shot an officer. Another officer opened fire on the gunman, killing him.
The injured officer was wounded in the foot and was hospitalized.
