A Wisconsin man whose speeding boat crashed into a community boat dock and plowed about halfway through a cruiser at the Lake of the Ozarks last weekend has been charged with careless and imprudent operation.

The State Water Patrol says William Schumacher of DePere, Wisconsin, also could face charges of boating-under-the-influence.

Schumacher and three passengers were thrown from the boat when it hit a wake. The unoccupied boat, running at an estimated 70 miles an hour when it smashed into the dock and into the other boat. Nobody suffered any life-threatening injuries in the incident.
