Officials at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis think a snapped cable is responsible for a three-hour power outage that stranded more than 200 people on the deck at the top or in tram cars Saturday night for almost three hours.

Another outage happened yesterday afternoon, less than half an hour after the Arch was declared safe for partial operations. Power was restored yesterday afternoon after about 15 minutes.

The north tram is operating, but the south tram to the top of the Arch is not running today.
