Brandon Inge belted his 12 th home run of the year, a 2 run walk off blast in the bottom of the 10 th inning, to give the Detroit Tigers a 10-8 win over the Kansas City Royals Saturday night at Comerica Park in Detroit.

Inge’s home run was 1 of 4 hit by the Tigers on the night. Detroit roundtrippers were also hit by Ryan Raburn, his 1 st ; Craig Monroe, his 10 th ; and Placido Polanco, his 4 th . John Buck hit his 16 th homer of the year for the Royals. Tony Pena had a good night at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a run scored.

Chad Durbin (7-3) pitched 1 perfect inning for the win. Joakim Soria (1-3) pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up the 2 run home run to Inge to take the loss.

The Royals (42-54) and Tigers (58-37) play the rubber game of their weekend series Sunday afternoon in the Motor City. Brian Bannister (5-6) takes the mound for the Royals against Nate Robertson (6-6) for the Tigers.
