The Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency have agreed on a way to manage the 150 Minuteman missile silos and 15 launch sites in the western part of Missouri.

The silos were deactivated long ago and imploded. But each of them has lot of PCB contamination inside. Officials say the agreement arranges a cooperative arrangement with the two agencies to make sure the PCBs don’t leak into water supplies and that nothing is done to disturb the concrete, plastic, and soil caps installed at each site.
