Missouri State Junior Ross Detwiler, a left handed pitcher who was selected 6th overall in this past month’s MLB draft by the Washington Nationals will make his professional career debut this weekend in Florida.

Detwiler is the highest draft pick ever chosen from Missouri State and the second highest ever from the Missouri Valley Conference.  According to National’s general manager Jim Bowden, it’s possible Detwiler could see some action with the big league squad as one of the team’s September call ups.
