The Chicago White Sox scored twice in the top of the 10 th inning Saturday night at Kauffman Stadium to defeat Kansas City 3-1 and end the Royals’ five-game winning streak.

It was a pitchers’ duel as Royals’ starter Odalis Perez, who was not involved in the decision, pitched 7 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits. Chicago starter John Danks, also not involved in the decision, pitched 8 innings, surrendering 1 earned run on 4 hits. But the White Sox got to Octavio Dotel (0-1) in the 10 th , scoring 2 earned runs on 2 hits off the Royals’ reliever. Ryan Bukvitch (1-0) got the win. Bobby Jenks picked up his 21 st save.

The Royals (34-47) and the White Sox (34-43) play again Sunday at the K. John Thomson (1-0) takes the hill for the Royals against Chicago’s Jon Garland (5-5).
