More than 200 state boards and commissions exist to monitor government agencies and businesses providing the services Missourians enjoy. And, Governor Blunt’s office is encouraging citizens to consider the opportunities to apply for appointments to those boards and commissions.

Jessica Robinson with the Governor’s office says there is bound to be a board or commission that appeals to just about every Missourian. Information on the various boards and commissions and an application form can be found online at www.gov.mo.gov/boards/boardsapp.htm .

Robinson cautions the form is lengthy because a lot of information is needed for positions which require Senate confirmation or for those needing a certain level of expertise. In addition to the the expertise, some positions do require individuals be from distinct congressional districts or regions of the state or from various political parties.
