A leading official of the state Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is the latest apointee to Governor Blunt’s newly created Campus Security Task Force. Blunt has named law enforcement agent Michael Boxler to serve on the task force. Boxler says he is grateful the governor has given him the opportunity to offer the knowledge and expertise of the ATF. Boxler says the group will be working on developing ways to safeguard Missouri campuses from acts of violence. Blunt created the task force in the wake of the shootings at Virginia Tech last week, were 32 people were killed and others injured by a student gunman. Blunt will be naming other members to the group including 2 and 4 year public and private higher education leaders, law enforcement, public safety associations amd student representatives.
