Justin Safford is not a name most Missouri Tiger fans know, but if all goes according to plan, they certainly will come this time next year.  Mizzou annoucing yesterday the 6-8 forward signed a letter of intent with the program, and will be eligible to play this next season.

Safford comes to the Tigers out of prep school in North Carolina, where he averaged almost 18 points and 12 boards a year for Charis Prep, leading the Crimson Tide to a 36-8 record.

"We are certiainly excited to bring a young man of Justin’s ability as well as character," Missouri coach Mike Anderson said in a statement.  "Justin gives us size, athleticism and versatility and now you are seeing us add the types of players that fit our system and fit the direction that this program is headed."

Safford joins DeMarre Carroll as the newcomers to the Tiger team this fall.  With the graduation of senior Marcus Watkins, the Tigers had just one scholarship to give prior to Safford’s committment.
