Missourians donating to food pantries could get a tax break under a bill the legislature has sent to the governor.

House Speaker Rod Jetton (R-Marble Hill) sponsors HB 453 that provides tax credits to companies or individuals donating to food pantries. Jetton accepted changes made by the Senate, so the bill now goes to Governor Blunt for his signature.

The measure will provide up to $2,500 in tax credits to a company or an individual donating to a local food pantry. It is capped at a total of $2 million.
