A Kirkwood man who liked to dress up as a retired Marine and liked to wear medals he never earned, has been fined $3,000. Michael Weilbacher also on probation for two years and has to do 120 hours of community service with a military organization.
Weilbacher never served in the military although he was born on a military base and raised in a military family. He says the hardest part of the sentence will be explaining things to his two sons, who are in the military.
Earlier this month, a Springfield man who did the same thing got a six-month prison sentence.
