The Central Missouri Mules’ run to the NCAA Division II title game fell 30 seconds short.  UCM saw a four-point lead slip away in the final half minute of Thursday’s semi-final before losing 90-85 in overtime to defending national champion Winona State.

The Mules end their season with a record of 31-4.

Central Missouri had three players in double figure points for the game, including Zack Wright, whose 33 matched a season-high.  Darryl Sommerset dropped in 16 and Theo Jones had 15.

The Warriors from Winona shot 69 percent from the field, making up for their 21 turnovers.  WSU’s win was their 57th consecutive victory.  They will try for 58 in Saturday’s national championship against Barton College.
