After starting the season with five-straight wins, Missouri State softball has dropped four in a row after losing every game in the Crowne Plaza Classic. In four games during the tournament, Missouri State only managed to put one run across.

It took until the last day of the Classic for MSU to score a run, losing to Centenary 2-1 on Sunday. Centenary scored the game’s first run in the opening inning of the game after Emerald Doria scored on a sacrifice fly.

The Bears evened the score at 1-1 in the top of the sixth on sophomore Jessie Smith’s solo home run to left field. It was Smith’s team-leading third homer of the season. But it was Centenary who laughed loudest and last answering with a run in the bottom of the sixth for the win.

MSU will get back on the diamond Friday, Feb. 23 in the Holiday Inn Select Tulsa Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Bears open the tournament with a double-header against Stephen F. Austin and Creighton University.
