Kansas City firefighters hope to get inside a burning chemical plant later this morning. The plant was blasted by a series of explosions and a big fire yesterday afternoon. People living and working within a mile of the plant have been evacuated.
Firefighters started laying down fire-suppressing foam late last night. It’s not known what set off the fire and explosions at the ChemCentral plant in the city’s east bottoms.
