A Jefferson City boy, missing since September of 2005, is reunited with his mother after the youngster was spotted in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Hyattsville, Maryland. Abraham Monroy was only 2-years-old when he was picked up by his noncustodial father – a Mexican national – and disappeared. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children had been involved in the search for Abraham since the beginning. It was thought the boy had been taken to Mexico.
The Center’s National President, Ernie Allen, says a Maryland woman who was paying attention used the resources of the Center to help end this missing child case. She sensed something strange, noticed Missorui plates on the man’s car, and checked the Center’s website at www.missingkids.org. The Center notified Jefferson City and Maryland law enforcement, which acted to recover the child. The Center arranged for Abraham’s mother to be flown to Maryland to be reunited with her child.
