About 240 people will be meeting at the St. Charles County courthouse today as candidates to be jurors in the long-delayed murder trial of Kenneth Baumruk. Baumruk is accused of killing his wife and wounding four others during a divorce hearing in the St. Louis County courthouse 15 years ago. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 2001, but the State Supreme Court threw out the conviction because it did not thing Baumruk should have been tried in the same courthouse where the shooting happened. His fitness to stand trial has been up and down the court system several times. A security guard shot him in the head during the 1992 incident.
