Former Missouri Chief Justice Charles Blackmar, Sr. has died after a brief illness. The State Supreme Court reports Blackmar died after a brief illness Friday in Clearwater, Florida. Blackmar became a Supreme Court judge at the end of 1982. He served as chief justice from July of 1989 through June of 1991. He retired from the court in 1992, just a few weeks before his 70th birthday. He continued to hear cases before the Court as a senior judge through last fall.
