Speculation on what is in store for the state budget is circulating as the public counts down to the scheduled State of the State address. But the Governor’s plans for the new budget is not all that hush-hush if you ask Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder. He says residents can already guess at what Governor Blunt’s State of the State Address will say about new budget plans. Kinder says one look at the state’s recent economic trends is indication enough that “Missouri’s economy today is a healthy and robust job creating engine.” He adds, “It’s no secret that the state’s in the best cash position it’s been in in years now with the economic turnaround.” Kinder points to the recent announcements from the Governor that call for boosting funding for various state programs – some to record levels – as a preview of what is to come in the Governor’s speech.
