Thousands of Missouri homes and businesses are without electricity as we start this week because of the waves of ice storms that hit the state during the weekend. AmerenUE says it has restored power to 120,000 during the weekend but still started this day with about 112,000 customers in the dark, more than 100,000 of them in Missouri – in St. Louis and west to the Lake of the Ozarks area. Springfield City Utilities reported more than 60,000 people without power. Empire District Electric in Joplin said last night it had 70,000 customers without electricity.
