The Atlantic-10 preseason baseball poll has been released and Saint Louis University is picked to finish second in the league standings.

SLU returns all of their starting pitchers and two All-Conference hitters from last year’s team that won the A-10 Tournament.

“The preseason poll is a testament to our players and what we accomplished late in the season last year, and we look forward to living up to those expectations this spring,” SLU head coach Bob Hughes said. “We lost a few key players from last year’s squad, but with three All-Conference performers and most of our pitching staff back, we are confident we can make a run at a second NCAA Tournament spot.”

Charlotte was picked ahead of the Billikens, and 2006 regular-season champ Rhode Island picked third.

SLU ended last season as the fifth seed in the conference tournament, but got hot at the right time and won its first conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance since 1966.
