The New Year brought in a new contract for Missouri State football coach Terry Allen and eight assistant coaches. The Missouri State Board of Governors voted unanimously on the extensions.

Allen’s contract was extended for a year and now runs through Jan. 31, 2012. The assistants are all on one-year contracts. Each of the nine coaches received the same three percent salary increase as the other university employees for the fiscal year.

Only one assistant coaching spot is available. Offensive coordinator Steve Brickey left MSU in November to take a job at Samford University.

The Bears finished a disappointing 2-9 overall, 1-6 in the Gateway Conference last season. Their only wins coming against Division II Southwest Baptist (45-14) and Western Illinois (24-21).
