The top-ranked Missouri wrestling team wasted no time in disposing of No. 24 Pittsburgh Thursday night. The Tigers destroyed the Panthers 35-9 in front of a record-setting crowd of 2,494 fans. Mizzou won eight of the ten matches, and ran its season record to 4-0.

At center mat, defending 174-pound national champion Ben Askren faced off with No. 2 Keith Gavin for the second time this season. And just like the first showdown, Askren dominated his opponent, pinning Gavin in just 2 minutes, 34 seconds. Askren’s undefeated record now stands at 18-0.

Ben’s younger brother Maxwell Askren ran his own perfect mark to 13-0 with a major decision (14-2) over Eric Cassady at 197 pounds. Both Askren siblings are ranked No. 1 in the country in their respective weight classes.
