Last weeks snow and ice storm has caused millions of dollars in damage to docks, marinas, and boats at the Lake of the Ozarks and at several other lakes and water recreation areas in Missouri. The state water patrol has issued an advisory urging boaters to stay off the Lake of the Ozarks unless they are operating emergency response craft. Patrol Sergeant Ralph Bledsoe says the weight of ice and snow has caused covered many covered docks to collapse, often forcing docked boats to sink. He says some of the damaged or sunken boats also have started leaking fuel. [Additional photos.]
